Debray Dorper Farm (Next to Riverwood we were one of the first in Ohio to raise Dorpers and have been the beginning for many others)
We will be selling a large portion of our flock this year it is time to slow down. I will update Debray Farm ewes that become available after their lambs are weaned in our OFFER SECTION at the bottom of this page. We have spent the past ten years developing some of the best Dorper ewes in the Country.

We will be gene testing and weighing this years Spring lambs by the end of June, at that time we will accept deposits and the lambs can leave the farm around August 1st. We decided in 1999 to produce shedding sheep, and started with both Katahdins and Dorpers. We now only produce Dorpers and are very satisfied with our decision. We produce Fullblood and Purebred Dorpers for breeding stock. Percentage animals and those that don't show the quality we expect in our breeders go to market. Our ewe lambs sold quickly but new lambs will be arriving March, 2008.
Rams For Sale
For the past several years we lambed in January and February to have lambs available to donate to Our local FFA students to show at the County fair market class to help promote the Dorper breed. Now that we have other Dorper breeders attending we will start lambing only in March and April, just to make Easy Care a little easier. I started Yahoo's SHEDDERS SHEEP GROUP to help others interested in shedding sheep of all breeds. We have files and information available that can be a help to both beginners and veterans. We have some of the most knowlegable individuals in the shedding sheep industry as members of our group.
Claudious our main breeding ram is QR and has been produceing about 50% QR lambs when bred to a QQ ewes.

Winter 2006 Prior Spring Lambing
Deb and I have been working Our breeding stock toward a more beefy type meat sheep useing the Dorper Standard of Excellance guidelines. Which include Conformation, Size, Fat Distribution, Covering, Type and Color. Easy Care such as lack of shearing and unassisted lambing are number one priorities. We are also working on other items of importance also such as Scrapie certification, Gene testing to increase the QR and RR genes in our breeding stock. I have taken and am certified in FAMACHA testing which I use in deciding which animals need dewormed and which do not. I also do fecal egg count to determing resistance and resilience within our flock. We joined the NSIP program in the Spring of 07 along with several other Dorper breeders to insure only top quality animals are used in our breeding program.

GRACIE always on Guard After the loss of Dorper lambs to dogs, and with coyotes everywhere We decided to try a Great Pyrenees guard dog. Now we have no stray dogs and the coyotes make a wide circle around the sheep pastures. Thank God for Gracie and I sleep alot better at night because of her. If You have any questions please E-Mail , if You need help with a sheep related problem maybe we have already had it or can find the answer. Information on Great Pyrenees www. Great Pyrenees.com
